Native to Indonesia, Vetiver is a plant with large, long green leaves. We know Vetiver essentially by its use in the field of perfumery for its earthy, woody, even smoky odor, which enters into the composition of many male perfumes with oriental, woody and chypre notes. These are the roots that are steam distilled to obtain the essential oil. Vetiver Bourbon essential oil is used in aromatherapy for its relaxing and sedative action as well as for the symptomatic relief of acne and boils.
