Formerly considered the king of the forest because of its imposing size of up to 90 meters, today the white pine can reach, on average, up to 45 meters. It has been progressively dethroned by maple and fir as a result of overexploitation, disease and pollution. Its longevity is generally around 200 to 400 years thanks to its extreme resistance to decomposition. Its main habitat is eastern North America, Ontario, Quebec, the Maritimes to Newfoundland. White Pine essential oil is used in diffusion for its resinous and fresh fragrance, to purify the ambient air and purify it.
