Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis:
Minerals? - There are 21 essential mineral elements necessary for the human body. The earth also contains these same minerals in an inorganic form. To utilize minerals in our bodies they must be in the organic form. When we eat fruits, vegetables, nuts, and grains, we get the organic minerals, however current day farming practices may result in mineral deficiencies in the soil and therefore also the produce.
What do they do? -
Skeletal - several minerals – calcium chief among them – are involved in building and maintaining our bones and teeth.
Immune system - minerals are involved in our immune health; including the trace mineral, zinc. It assists our body in warding off infections while also working to heal wounds and repair cells.
Nerve and muscle function - What potassium does is help regulate the water balance in the cells of nerves and muscles, allowing nerves to generate impulses for our body movements and for muscles to contract and flex.
Enzymes. These simply won’t work without minerals, and cells can’t function without enzymes – this is where we get our vitality.
Tissue growth. Our muscles are connected to bone at the joints by connective tissues known as tendons and ligaments. Minerals working in tandem with vitamins can help repair damage and reduce inflammation of these tissues.
pH balance. Minerals play a vital roll in maintaining a proper balance between acidity and alkalinity in our blood, with a reading on the 0-to-14 scale of 7.4 – slightly alkaline – considered optimal.
Energy production. Oxygen is a prerequisite for producing energy. Our red blood cell transport oxygen to all our cells, where energy can then be generated. This is where heme, a component of iron, comes into play, binding to oxygen so that it can be carried. Not enough iron in our blood can lead to anemia, a source of fatigue and weakness.
So issues like chronic fatigue, brain fog, lack of focus, insomnia, thyroid issues, adrenal issues, weight gain, inability to lose weight, hormone imbalance, GI dysbiosis, anxiety and depression can all be symptoms of mineral imbalances?
Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis show us how mineral imbalance induced by stress could lead to thyroid, adrenal, cardiac, glucose and other health problems, months or years before a blood serum test will. HTMA is effective at identifying the root cause of problems.
HTMA is considered to be a great strategy for determining cellular mineral levels & but also stored heavy metals. Once done, it can determine optimal nutritional and detoxification protocols to greatly improve health and vitality and relieve symptoms, to live healthier.
And with detoxification protocols it is important to know when to detox, what and how or otherwise it could be displacing toxins to somewhere else in the body?
